Hello Sir, Remember Me?

Greetings, new S3 class, and welcome to Mr Sharpe the Teacher.

"Tree Hugger" Poetry with S4

OK, so I still think of you all as S3 still, but then again I fear change.

Once we've polished off our own, self scripted, storyboarded and filmed "next scene" of The Truman Show, we're going to be looking at a range of poetry with an environmental theme. Not "save the wales environmental", more "turn off the TV and go do something in the woods" environmental. After this, we'll be writing our own, and (yipee!) writing an essay on one of the texts we study.

If you liked the Dave Matthews Band's Dreaming Tree and you want to watch it again, follow the links that should be somewhere on this post (not sure where right now)

The Last Laugh - Dictators

No, not Mr Sharpe, rather Gloria and Gilbert Grimm from Ben Payne's play, "The Last Laugh"

On Thursday, we'll be finishing the current scene and thinking about both the dicators in the play, and how we might behave if we were dictators.

If you didn't make class or you've lost your copy of the worksheet - click the picture for a full sized version.

MacBeth's Scotland

I know we aren't doing MacBeth right now, but to help out a colleague, I made this map using the groovy google tool.

Feel free to use, abuse, annotate etc. Or even export into Googe Earth for a real-time flyby!

In class, on Friday 2nd, we marked eacher others work on the "Courtroom Climax". We were trying to see what level our classmates piece of writing would get. We also watched the Simpsons and learned a bit more about Judaism that would help us in our essay about Shylock being a victim or a villain.
